On December 29, 1997, WCW Monday Nitro was held at The Baltimore Arena. This was just one day after the Hulk Hogan-Sting match at Starrcade in DC that still lives in infamy.

The results from that night:

  • Goldberg defeats Glacier.

  • Chris Benoit defeats Van Hammer by DQ after interference by Raven’s Flock. Steve McMichael runs in to assist his fellow Horseman Benoit.

  • Eddie Guerrero loses the WCW World Cruiserweight Championship to Ultimo Dragon.

  • Diamond Dallas Page defeats Mortis to retain the U.S. Heavyweight Championship.

  • Disco Inferno loses the WCW World Television Championship to Booker T.

  • Chris Jericho lost to Curt Hennig.

  • In a rematch from the night before, Buff Bagwell takes on Lex Luger. This time Luger wins.

  • There’s also a rematch between Hulk Hogan and Sting, but more on that in a minute.

The above tweet is a good TLDR version of events. Here’s a more in-depth review of that match. Another writer reviewed the whole show that night.
