Former WCW, ECW, and WWE wrestler 2 Cold Scorpio was taken into custody Thursday in Kansas City, Missouri, after a judge found that he violated the conditions of his bond by brandishing a firearm.
Scorpio, whose real name is Charles Scaggs, acknowledged the violation during a September 17 court hearing. Prosecutors had asked the court earlier this month to revoke his bond.
The judge found Scaggs was “clearly in violation of his bond conditions” and said his actions posed a danger to public safety. He was taken into custody after the hearing.
Scaggs is awaiting sentencing after pleading guilty August 3 to second-degree assault and armed criminal action. He is scheduled to be sentenced October 9. He had originally been charged with first-degree assault and armed criminal action.
The case dates back to June 15, 2024, when Scaggs was working as a security guard at a Love’s Travel Stop in Kansas City.
Scaggs told police he confronted a man who was smoking inside the store. He said the man became confrontational, threatened him, and later tried to grapple with him outside. Scaggs said he pulled a knife and stabbed the man in self-defense.
The other man told police Scaggs was the aggressor. Officers found him with several wounds, and he was taken to a hospital.
Scaggs initially pleaded not guilty before later reaching a plea agreement on the reduced assault charge.
Scaggs, 60, has been wrestling for nearly four decades. He broke through nationally with World Championship Wrestling in the early 1990s, where he became known for an athletic style that stood out during that period. He later had runs in Extreme Championship Wrestling and the World Wrestling Federation, where he was introduced as Flash Funk before returning to the Scorpio name. He also spent years wrestling in Japan and remained active on the independent scene long after his major national runs ended. His championships include the WCW World Tag Team Championship, ECW World Television Championship, and ECW World Tag Team Championship.
