7/1: Rich Swann vs. Myles Hawkins in Philly
Battleground Championship Wrestling is holding its Legends Never Die event on July 1 at 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, PA. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and bell time is 7:30. Tickets are available online. The next Icons of Wrestling convention will also be at that location that day from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
One of the announced matches features two wrestlers who should be very familiar to DMV Wrestling readers - Baltimore native Rich Swann will take on Myles Hawkins. Swann wrestles for Impact Wrestling, among other places, and Hawkins regularly wrestles at MCW, CZW, and all over the northeast.
I have seen Rich Swann wres twice in person and his match with Lio Rush at CZW earlier thKevis year may be ne of the best matches I’ve ever seen in person. I also have seen Myles Hawkins wrestle a lot and I’m glad I have because he will e moving on to bigger things sometime soon. This would be the match I wanted to see most out of the ones announced so far for this event.
In addition to Swann vs. Hawkins, other announced matches for Legends Never Die include:
Brian Kendrick defends the Battleground Championship against PCO.
Bully Ray takes on Matt Cardona with the loser banned from wrestling at the 2300 Arena in the future.
The Rock N Roll Exxpress - Ricky Morton & Robert Gibson - take on the Powers of Pain ( Barbarian & Warlord).
Afa Jr. squares off against The Sandman.
In tag team action, Gangrel & Holidead take on Kevin Thorn & Max the Impaler.
