NWA World Champion Ric Flair defeated Ron Garvin in a Best 2 out of 3 falls match, 2-1. Flair pinned Garvin with his feet on the ropes in the first fall, Garvin evened the match by scoring a pin after the right hand punch in the second fall, and Flair won the deciding fall at the 40-minute mark by holding onto JJ Dillon for leverage as Garvin attempted a sunset flip.
