Action Andretti defeated Lio Rush to win the Ring of Honor (ROH) World Television Championship Friday at Death Before Dishonor at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia.
Andretti won the Fight Without Honor after interference from HOOK and Anthony Bowens. He finished Rush with Lights, Camera, Action to capture the championship.
The match also featured two wrestlers with ties to Maryland’s MCW Pro Wrestling. Andretti is a former MCW Heavyweight Champion, while Rush previously held the MCW Rage TV Championship. Both men also won the Shane Shamrock Memorial Cup during their time with the promotion.
Andretti and Rush have shared considerable history in MCW. Rush defended the MCW Rage TV Championship against Andretti in 2021, the same year Andretti won the Shane Shamrock Memorial Cup.
Andretti’s victory ended Rush’s ROH World Television Championship reign and gave Andretti his first ROH singles championship.
