Another milestone for Baltimore native Jessika Carr
Just before the WWE Backlash main event match between Cody Rhodes and A.J. Styles on Saturday, announcer Michael Cole pointed out that Jessika Carr was the referee. He went on to say that this was the first time a woman had officiated a main event match for the WWE championship ever.
Carr, whose real name is Jessika Heiser, is a professional wrestling referee. She is known for breaking barriers in WWE as the first full-time female referee in the company. Jessika Carr began her career on the independent wrestling circuit before making her way to WWE. She made her debut on WWE's NXT brand and later worked on both Raw and SmackDown.
Her independent wrestling career primarily was under the ring name Kennadi Brink. She wrestled for several companies including MCW, ACW, and DCW.
