On December 9, 2023, Assault Wrestling Alliance (AWA) hosted "Christmas at the Asylum" in Waldorf, Maryland, where 2 Cold Scorpio was billed as the special guest. He was scheduled to wrestle and participate in meet-and-greet sessions. However, on December 16, AWA announced on Facebook that 2 Cold Scorpio did not appear at the event. They attributed his absence to DC Productions' Daryl Cline, who allegedly failed to fulfill contractual obligations. AWA expressed disappointment and apologized to fans for the inconvenience.
Cline responded to my original report by sending a message stating that every story has two sides. Both sides were heard in court earlier this year. Donnell Dorsey, owner of AWA, filed a civil complaint against Daryl Cline on February 9 in Charles County District Court. After a trial on July 3, Judge Kenneth A. Talley entered a judgment against Cline for $929.59.
Earlier this week, Assault Wrestling released a statement explaining that Daryl Cline had been given three months to resolve his debt with AWA but failed to comply. Instead, he used social media to spread misinformation, make disparaging remarks, and issue threatening messages.
As a result, AWA says it is now required to follow legal procedures by placing liens on all of Cline’s properties and bank accounts. They noted that it would have been more prudent for Cline to fulfill his obligations rather than attempt to tarnish AWA's reputation online. Due to his ongoing misconduct, AWA plans to take further steps as necessary to protect the integrity of professional wrestling and ensure that no other promotions in the DMV region face similar unethical actions.
The statement also mentioned that Cline is expected to receive formal correspondence soon, detailing what is required of him in the coming days or weeks.
