Despite previous controversies and a declared suspension of events at the venue, Atlantic All-Star Wrestling (AAW) returned to American Legion Post 133 in Woodbury, NJ on Saturday, February 8, 2025, for its event Reemergence 2025.
In August 2024, AAW canceled its September Showdown 2024 event, scheduled for Sept. 14, due to a double booking at American Legion Post 133. In an official statement, the organization expressed disappointment, stating that while its partnership with the venue had been strong in the past, it could not allow such scheduling conflicts to disrupt future events. As a result, AAW suspended all remaining shows at the venue for the rest of the year and began searching for a more reliable location.
AAW owner Dino Biello later offered a more pointed response, accusing the venue’s leadership of dishonesty and discrimination. He claimed that while he was hospitalized, venue management overbooked the event date and then falsely claimed AAW was not on the schedule. Biello alleged that the venue prioritized a birthday party over AAW because the party organizer was a member, whereas AAW staff were not. He further suggested the decision was influenced by bias against AAW members for being sober, in contrast to American Legion members.
Biello also expressed frustration with AAW’s liaison, stating, "Our liaison Al Justice just showed his lack of balls, in which we got screwed and he gave our date to a birthday party as the man was a member, we were not, so screw us." He also noted that AAW had recently donated a 55-inch television to the venue, making the situation even more frustrating. Biello announced his intent to pursue legal action against the venue, estimating $7,500 in lost revenue and expenses.
In October 2024, AAW faced backlash when Biello posted a politically charged message on AAW's Instagram featuring a picture of Donald Trump and a statement calling for the "elimination" of former President Barack Obama. The post was widely condemned, with followers criticizing Biello for using AAW’s platform for political messaging and making statements that could be interpreted as threatening. Some fans urged the company to keep political opinions off social media to avoid alienating its audience.
Despite these controversies, AAW returned to American Legion Post 133 on Feb. 8, 2025, for Reemergence 2025. Additionally, Marcus Waters (aka Kevin Wilcox), owner of Delmarva Wrestling Digest, made headlines for threatening to sue DMV Wrestling News over truthful reports regarding safety violations at a wrestling event he conducted.
Reports confirmed that the Delaware Department of State’s Division of Professional Regulation launched an investigation into Delmarva Wrestling Digest’s event for multiple violations, including:
An unsafe ring, as shown in numerous photos and videos.
Lack of required guardrails between the ring and audience, a violation of Delaware regulations.
The participation of an underage wrestler, which is prohibited under Delaware law.
The involvement of a registered sex offender and convicted rapist in an event held at a middle school.
Despite these allegations, Waters was featured at Reemergence 2025, adding further controversy to AAW’s return to American Legion Post 133.
