WWE has filed a trademark for the name Kalyx, intended for referee Jessika Carr, according to Fightful Select. This move clarifies earlier speculation that associated the trademark with NXT star Sol Ruca, whose real name is Calyx.
Carr recently participated in a tag team match during the tapings for WWE Evolve. The show is set to premiere Wednesday, March 5, on Tubi and internationally on YouTube. In the fourth episode's taping, Carr wrestled under a mask to conceal her identity, entering the ring without a traditional entrance alongside her unnamed partner. To date, six episodes have been recorded.
Born Jessika Heiser on June 25, 1991, in Baltimore, Maryland, Carr began her wrestling career in 2010 under the ring names Jessie Kaye and Kennadi Brink on the independent circuit. She trained at Duane Gill's Academy of Professional Wrestling in Severn, Maryland, and later at the Team 3D Academy under WWE Hall of Famers The Dudley Boyz.
During her time in Maryland, Carr competed in several local promotions, notably Maryland Championship Wrestling (MCW), where she won the MCW Women's Championship, and Eastern Wrestling Alliance (EWA). Her in-ring career also included stints in other regional promotions before she moved into officiating.
In 2017, Carr made history by becoming WWE's first full-time female referee since the 1980s. She continued to break barriers in October 2021 at Crown Jewel, officiating the first women's match in Saudi Arabia and becoming the first female referee to oversee a Hell in a Cell match between Edge and Seth Rollins.
Her trailblazing achievements extended to May 2024 at WWE Backlash in France, where she officiated the main event between Cody Rhodes and A.J. Styles. This marked the first time a woman had refereed a WWE Championship main event match. Reflecting on this milestone, WWE executive Paul "Triple H" Levesque stated, "Jessika Carr has been smashing through glass ceilings since she joined WWE."
In February 2024, Carr's contributions were further recognized with her inclusion as a character in the WWE 2K24 video game. Expressing her gratitude on Instagram, she shared, "This is a big milestone and accomplishment for me, and I’m not going to minimize it."
