Barry Windham says Mike Rotunda is in hospice care
Rotunda, best known as “I.R.S.” and half of the U.S. Express, was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame alongside Windham in 2024.
Veteran professional wrestler Mike Rotunda, remembered by fans of the 1980s and 1990s for his run as “I.R.S.” in the WWE, is in hospice care, according to his longtime friend and brother in law Barry Windham.
Windham shared the news in an interview with wrestling journalist Bill Apter, recorded October 25 at a fan convention in Florida and posted two days later on Apter’s 1WrestlingVideo YouTube channel. “Mike is in hospice right now,” Windham said. “Pray for Mike Rotundo.”
The story was later noted by the wrestling site WWF Old School, which cited Windham’s remarks and described Rotunda’s condition as serious.
Rotunda, born March 30, 1958, gained national attention as half of the U.S. Express tag team with Windham before establishing himself as a singles performer in WWE and other promotions. The two were inducted together into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2024. Rotunda is married to Stephanie Windham, Barry’s sister, and is the father of former WWE wrestlers Bo Dallas and Bray Wyatt.
