Enjoy Wrestling announced Wednesday that its next three events will be its last, ending the Pittsburgh-based promotion’s five-year run.
The final three shows are scheduled for Sunday, August 30, at the Hilltop County Fair; Saturday, September 5, at Mr. Smalls Theatre; and Sunday, October 4, at Tacomania.
Enjoy Wrestling said the people behind the promotion have started families since its launch, and their priorities have changed as their children have gotten older. The group said putting on wrestling shows is still exciting, but the logistics have become increasingly time-consuming and stressful.
“We’re pulling the plug while there’s still some money in the bank, before this thing starts feeling less like a hobby and more like a chore,” the promotion said.
Enjoy Wrestling began in January 2021, filming Canned Heat on a closed set at a church in Tarentum, Pennsylvania. The promotion went on to sell out Mr. Smalls Theatre several times, appear before crowds of more than 10,000 people through Beers of the Burgh, and hold Immaculate at Stage AE.
By the time the final show takes place, Enjoy Wrestling will have held 36 events. Most were made available free on YouTube, and wrestlers from around the world appeared for the promotion during its run.
The farewell stretch begins August 30 at the Hilltop County Fair. Enjoy Wrestling will return to Mr. Smalls Theatre on September 5 for its Five Years celebration. The Amazing Red and Butcher & The Blade are among those announced for the show.
Enjoy Wrestling will hold its final event October 4 at Tacomania.
