Jake Roberts’ Trump Encounter

Professional wrestling legend Jake "The Snake" Roberts recounted a memorable incident involving Ivana Trump during WrestleMania IV in 1988.

In a May 2020 interview on The Beaucephus Broadcast, recently featured at Pro Wrestling Stories, Roberts described how, after his match against Rick Rude, he noticed Ivana Trump, then-wife of Donald Trump, appearing disinterested in the event.

"Coming out of the ring after that match, Ivana Trump was sitting there, and she wouldn’t even look at the ring. It really pissed me off," Roberts said. "We were working our tails off... so when we left the ring, I 'accidentally' swung the snake around, and it hit her."

The unexpected contact caused Ivana to spill her champagne and tumble from her chair. According to Roberts, Donald Trump reacted swiftly, running down the aisle following the incident. Roberts later learned that Ivana was so upset she allegedly considered having her security team confront him.

"I became a favorite of Donald’s over that," Roberts noted.
