MCW Higher Ground Results
MCW Higher Ground kicked off Saturday night about 20 minutes early, with a match between a masked wrestler named Techno and Clay Jacobs of the Jacobs Family. It was a squash match with Jacobs winning that ended quickly and then the rest of the card started at the scheduled time.
The first match featured Mecca against Ace Austin, and Mecca was not happy about being in the first match, but claimed he would be leaving to go watch the Phillies win afterward. Mecca won after removing a turnbuckle cover, something he does all the time, and slamming Austin into it and then getting the pinfall.
The next match was the Four Corners Tag Team Match which was won by Alex Divine and Angel Alvarado.
Zayda Steel, with Steven Fuerte in her corner, challenged Mandy Leon, with Velvet Sky, for the MCW Women’s Championship. After a lot of interference by Fuerte, Velvet Sky put him in his place and evened the odds so that Mandy Leon could win the match and retain her title.
In, the next match, The Trade (Robert Locke and Eric Martin along with Portia) defended their MCW Tag Team Championship against Black Wallstreet, with Red Velvet. There was a lot of action outside the ring, including Red Velvet chasing Portia into the back and later returning. The Trade ultimately held on to their titles.
The next match was a triple threat match between Jordan Oliver, Miami Mike, and Lio Rush. It was a spirited match and ended when Miami Mike jumped back into the ring from the floor and threw Lio Rush out of the ring and covered Oliver for the pin.
After intermission, MCW General Manager Phil Stamper came to the ring and announced that Kekoa and King Ryan McBride will face each other in a steel cage match December 3 at Breakthrough in Joppa.
The first match after intermission was Demarcus Kaine against Alec Odin. The pair went back and forth in a really strong match but then Team Spriggs came running out to the ring, along with Tim Spriggs himself, and Odin lost after Spriggs worked him over and Kane got the pin. After the match, Odin ran roughshod through Team Spriggs and as they all left for the back Tim Spriggs was not happy with them, just like last month if you saw the videos online.
In tag team action, Dante Caballero and Joe Keys defeated The Rascalz (Trey Miguel and Zachary Wentz).
Next, Moses defended the MCW Rage TV Championship against Sam Adonis. King McBride came out and interfered in the match. He seemed to have a real problem with Adonis. After Moses won the match, Adonis and McBride squared off in the ring and had to be separated.
The main event was Action Andretti defending the MCW Heavyweight Championship against Speedball Mike Bailey.
This was an outstanding match that showcased Andretti’s acrobatic skills and Bailey’s martial arts background. It was a high-flying match with several near falls before Andretti got the pin. Both wrestlers shook hands and received a standing ovation from the crowd for the hard-fought battle.
After the match, as Andretti addressed the fans and started walking towards the ramp Mecca came out of the crowd, dressed as a woman wearing a wig and a dress, and started beating up on Action Andretti. It took referees and event staff to pull Mecca off Andretti and get him out of the ring and to the back.
The next event in Joppa, MD is Breakthrough on December 3 which is also a benefit for Toys for Tots.
