Merry Christmas from DMV Wrestling
Merry Christmas from everyone here at DMV Wrestling!
We hope you have a great holiday with your friends and family. This newsletter will take the place of The Ringpost this week because of the holidays.
In case you missed it earlier this week, my podcast launched with a preview episode. The podcast, known as Belts, Bumps, & Barbed Wire, will launch with its full schedule in January. Shawn Hardy of 1CW will be my first guest.
The above photo of Santa Claus and John Cena is from a match I discussed on Christmas Eve when I talked about many of the times Santa Claus has been involved in wrestling matches. In this one, Alberto Del Rio ran over Santa on his way to the ring. Other matches mentioned include Stone Cold, Jake Roberts, Rip Oliver, and Michael Hayes. The Cena-Del Rio match also made the list of The 12 Most Festive Christmas Matches in WWE History from Bleacher Report. Another list, from Sportskeeda, details The 5 Most Cringeworthy WWE Movies of Christmas.
In other news, Part 3 of Mike Mooneyham’s series on legendary announcer Bob Caudle dropped this weekend.
Earlier this past week, Baltimore Celebfest 6 announced that both Ric Flair and Pete Rose will be at their February 5 event in Westminster, MD.
And now, let’s watch this video from Christmas 1989 on Prime Time Wrestling when “Rowdy” Roddy Piper debated “Santa Claus” who was actually Bobby Heenan.
