Miami Mike Walker Vacates MCW Title Due to Health Issues
Prior to Saturday’s MCW Shamrock Cup event, it was advertised that there would be a contract signing for an upcoming steel cage match between Patrick Clark and Miami Mike Walker for the MCW Championship.
After Clark’s always overly long ring entrance, Walker came to the ring, and the pair got into a verbal confrontation. Walker said they could go at it right then, but it would kill him. General Manager Phil Stamper kicked Clark and his entourage out of the ring, shook Walker’s hand, and left.
Walker talked about how much the MCW Championship meant to him and announced that he was vacating the title. He mentioned issues with blood clots and eventually said he had suffered a pulmonary embolism after discussing a recent emergency room visit.
He continued speaking about his career and being the best he could be. He became emotional at times, while the fans showed their love and appreciation for him.
I will have more on Walker’s career and impact at a later time. For now, I just want to thank him for all he has done for the fans at every company he has wrestled for.
He will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers.
