Missy Hyatt's Nazi Cheesecake
Missy Hyatt has been billed as the “First Lady of Wrestling” and she reposted this 2010 photo on her Facebook and Instagram accounts the night of October 31, 2022.
She was in Baltimore last night backstage at AEW Dynamite and tweeted this shot at CM Punk:
The tweet has since been deleted (I asked if she works for AEW in a reply before it was deleted but I imagine it was deleted for other reasons). Hyatt lists Civil War Living Historian and World War II Living Historian on various biographies and profiles online. That’s a fancier way of saying reenactor. She does have pictures of herself as a German nurse working in a field hospital scenario and in a group picture with other medical reenactors. Additionally, she has pictures of herself at living history events. However, the SS cheesecake photo from earlier this week that I included at the top of this post is not reenacting or living history - it’s her posing for a sexy picture while wearing a visor cap adorned with the Death’s Head of the SS. She also has posted pro-Confederate memes on Facebook recently.
The comments on the Nazi cheesecake picture are pretty interesting if you care to take a look. One that stands out is her saying she loves Infowars, the platform of conspiracy theorist Alex Jones, who has been losing his shirt in defamation cases after he lied and claimed the Sandy Hook shootings didn’t really happen.
Going back to 2013, Hyatt wrote to a blogger clarifying things about her reenacting after she was listed as a Nazi on another website.
I have been getting emails about me being a Nazi. Please let me clarify. Im a WW2 reenactor as well as Civil War. I portray a German Red Cross Nurse. I just like the uniforms since they look better than the Allies.
Given this history, I’m not sure why she thought it was a good idea in the political climate of 2022 to repost this old cheesecake picture of herself in a SS visor cap. The atrocities of the Schutzstaffel (SS), whether it was in areas the Nazis invaded or in their close ties to the concentration camp system, are very well documented.
Hyatt is the niece of General (or Field Marshal) Homer O’Dell, a wrestling manager who wore a German uniform with an Iron Cross on it back in the day.
After a 2021 Dark Side of the Ring episode on the infamous Plane Ride from Hell involving WWE talent, Tommy Dreamer was fired by Impact Wrestling after he said the following about Ric Flair’s behavior as detailed on the show:
“Ric Flair is not going to try to impose by force any sexual stuff onto anybody. He’s just flaunting, stylin and profilin and [doing the] Ric Flair stuff where everybody’s going to laugh about it, but obviously somebody took offense to it.”
After his firing Missy Hyatt made the following comments on Twitter:
[Tommy Dreamer] doesnt deserve any backlash based on 1 bad sound bite.he has always been the voice of reason to talk down drugged up-degenerate behavior of some of the boys.been a clean-clear minded person in the ring & in life.helped so many young & old workers.
Hyatt is 59 years old and her birth name is Melissa Ann Hiatt. She was a valet or manager (and sometimes wrestler) in World Class Championship Wrestling, Universal Wrestling Federation, Continental Wrestling Association, WCW, WWF, ECW, and Impact Wrestling.
While I have not confirmed whether Hyatt is involved with AEW in some role, they did honor her along with Austin Idol in 2020 at a Dynamite Taping in Huntsville, AL as part of a tribute to Continental Wrestling.
