Nahir Robles Featured in PWPonderings Interview
The Puerto Rican wrestler discusses her journey, challenges, and championship success.
PWPonderings published an interview on June 30 titled “Spotlight on Nahir Robles”, highlighting the Puerto Rican wrestler’s training, wrestling style and experiences competing across the independent scene in both Puerto Rico and the Northeastern United States.
Robles began training in late 2019 at Espíritu Pro Wrestling Dojo. Over the past three years, she has wrestled for promotions including IWA Puerto Rico, Wrestling Open, Beyond Wrestling, MCW Pro Wrestling and Midwest All-Star Wrestling. According to PWPonderings, her opponents have included Steph De Lander, Xia Brookside, Su Yung, Allie Katch and AEW’s Megan Bayne.
She currently holds the Warriors of Wrestling Women’s Championship and the Warrior Breed Wrestling Women’s Championship. In March, she won the Queen of Maryland tournament after defeating Brittany Blake, Dani Mo and Sammi Chaos.
Robles told PWPonderings that she started her professional career as a model at age 12 and eventually participated in pageants and runway shows, including two appearances at New York Fashion Week. “By the second time I walked it, I was already beginning my wrestling journey,” she said.
She began wrestling after a photographer from her modeling days encouraged her to reach out to a local wrestling school. She said her training was disrupted by illness during the COVID-19 pandemic and acknowledged entering the industry with less athletic experience than many of her peers. “What I lack in that, I make up in heart, consistency and determination,” she said.
Robles holds a bachelor’s degree in integrative biology from the University of Puerto Rico’s Río Piedras campus.
She described her in-ring style as blending comedic elements with power-based offense and cited influences such as Toni Storm, Madison Rayne, Beth Phoenix, Mickie James and the WWE Divas era, which she called “highly underrated.” She also discussed a lower-body-based finishing move that she began using in late 2023 or mid-2024. The move has been referred to by various names, including “The Skull Fuck” and “The Full Package.” “Most of my moveset has to do with my lower body. I’d like to think it is my biggest asset. No pun intended,” she said.
Robles is also part of the tag team Major League Blondes with JC Storm. She said the team was formed after a pair of matches where they found themselves working together more than competing against one another. “From there it was decided we were gonna start tagging and we work really well together,” she said.
She noted regional differences in wrestling styles and crowd reactions, telling PWPonderings that “PR wrestling has a mixture of a lot of wrestling styles while the Northeast is much more storytelling, obviously Americanized. Puertorrican crowds are very loud with megaphones.”
When asked about challenges related to her identity, Robles said she has faced scrutiny in her personal life. “Homophobia will always exist. I never thought I’d face racism until recently. That still won’t stop me from being proud,” she said. “And I will always use my platform to stand for what I believe in.”
Robles said her gear is often inspired by pop culture, including films, cartoons and video games. “I am a geek at heart,” she said. She also shared that she was good at math, competed in spelling bees, and had memorized the countries and capitals of the Americas by the age of 4.
I have seen Robles compete multiple times, including at Adrenaline Championship Wrestling and MCW Pro Wrestling. The last time I saw her, she had a DMV Wrestling News sticker on her water bottle.
