Saturday night in Bel Air, MD, EWA held the Great Maryland Bash.
Saturday night, EWA Wrestling held their Great Maryland Bash event at the historic Bel Air Armory in Bel Air, MD.
I got there a bit late due to attending another wrestling show in New Jersey Saturday afternoon. The results below reflect that.
The results:
Somebody please let me know who won the Appetizer Match that included the team of Sean Raymond & Eddie Blas vs. the team of Shane Banner & Sal Mistretta.
In tag team action, John Berg & JB Junior defeated JB Anderson & Jagermeister.
Oldman Youngboy retained his EWA Cruiserweight Championship by defeating Kamen MK.
Christopher Andino & Saul Esparza defeated Eel O’Neal & David Moses.
The Eliminator 3 included Rico Hendrix, Noah Idol, Red Dawg, & Pure Ignorance vs. Jesse O’Ryan, Sly Scarpone, Jason Drake, Cory Bush, & Hamish Stuart. Stipulations were announced after every fall in this elimination match.
The first fall resulted in the elimination of Red Dawg. The stipulation for the nex fall was that the wrestler eliminated would be banned from EWA for the next year.
Jason Drake was eliminated and banned for the next year. The next fall was announced as being for the EWA Maryland Championship.
Prince Mackaveli won the Maryland Championship by eliminating Jesse O’Ryan. The next fall was also announced as being for the EWA Maryland Championship.
Prince Mackaveli was eliminated by disqualification and retained the Maryland Championship since it couldn’t change hands via DQ. The next fall was announced as count-out only.
Hamish Stuart didn’t answer the 10-count and was eliminated. The next fall was announced as Sumo with no tags allowed and the first wrestler to be knocked out of the ring would be eliminated.
Cory Bush eliminated Noah Idol by throwing him out of the ring. The next stipulation was a high jump contest.
Cory Bush was eliminated and the next stipulation was that a fall would have to be by submission.
Rico Hendrix was eliminated leaving it with the fnal stipulation. The winner would have to win by pinning his opponent for a 5-count.
Chaz Evans won the match by pinning Sly Scarpone.
Intermission followed that match.
After a brief intermission, Art of War (A.K. Willis & Jason Andrews retained the EWA Tag Team Championships by defeating Stelman & Seth Coleman. After the match they were challenged to a match in September against John Berg & J.B. Junior.
The next match had been announcd previously as Syler & Colin Sheen vs. Michael Anthony and Hero Napier. Napier got on the mic and said he wouldn’t be wrestling and said he would be replaced by Beefcake. Beefcake & Michael Anthony ultimately got the win after interference from J.B Anderson.
The main event was next and it was a Bel Air Street Fight for the EWA Heavyweight Championship. TMHK defended his title against Grizzly O. If Grizzly O were to lose , he would be banned from EWA forever. There were bats, road signs, steel chairs, and numerous other weapons used as the match was out on the floor and all over the ring.
The ref got knocked out and Grizzly O pinned TMHK as he and the crowd counted. The match continued with TMHK getting the advantage, while the ref was still out. The owner of EWA came to the ring and TMHK went for the pin twice, but only got a 2 count, while arguing the count was slow.
Grizzly O pinned TMHK, and after what seemed to be a fast count to me, won the match and the EWA Heavyweight Championship.
