Results: MCW Tribute to the Legends
The event took place 5/21/20023 at the R.J. Meyer Arena in Joppa, MD
Saturday night, MCW Pro Wrestling was back in action at the R,J, Meyer Arena with their Tribute to the Legends event. Here’s my preview from Friday.
Results are below.
In the opening match, The Hype (Myron Malone & Khazman Lee) faced Black Wallstreet (Chuck Lennox & Drolix) in a Crybaby match. The losing team would have to wear diapers was the explanation of that stipulation. Black Wallstreet won the match.
The next match was a Lumberjack Match between Mur Mur and Zakar Shan (w/Robert Locke at ringside). Shah got the win.
The next match featured MCW Tag Team Champions Dante Caballero & Joe Keys defending their titles against The Sigma Males (Steven Fuerte & Luke Johnson/w Austin Kingsley V) in a blindfold match. The Sigma Males started out fighting each other and having trouble finding their way around a lot. They even tried to knock down MCW Senior Referee Mike Keehner, which was something the champions also tried to do later in the match. There was a lot of chicanery in the match by the Sigma Males. At one point, Fuerte dropped down to the floor and was replaced by Kingsley, who was not wearing his usual khakis, but was instead wearing the spotted trunks the Sigma Males usually wear. With the blindfold covering his face he hit a low blow on one of the champions and rolled him up for a 3-count. The Sigma Males were declared the winner and Kingsley wouldn’t take his mask off even while having his hand raised in victory. At that point Fuerte stood up and the ref spotted him, pulled off the blindfold (they covered the whole heard) to reveal Kingsley and called for the match to be re-started. The champions quickly won the match and retained their titles.
The next match was a best 2 of 3 falls match between Kekoa and Tim Spriggs. Cash Carter accompanied Spriggs to the ring. Before the match Kekoa told Spriggs his undefeated record was tarnished because it always came with interference from his “goons”. He told Spriggs to stop being a “bitch” and keep his goons out of it. Spriggs sends Cash Carter to the locker room and the match gets under way. Kekoa got the pin in the first fall pretty easily. In the second fall, Spriggs took him out of the ring a few times and used steel chairs and the ring steps on Kekoa, proving the point he couldn’t win cleanly without help. Spriggs won the second fall. The referee stopped the third fall and gave the win to Tim Spriggs.
Up next, after intermission, was a 20-man Come As You Are Bunkhouse Battle Royal. When the match was about to begin, MCW General Manager Phil Stamper came out to the ramp and announced that there were still two people who weren’t out at the ring yet and he was there to bring them out. Myrone Malone & Khaz Lee came running out of the back wearing diapers and other baby clothes with Chuck Lennox and Drolix right behind them chasing them to the ring. This time Hellfire McGuire, who sneakily won the last battle royal at the R.J. Meyer Arena, was the first wrestlercon eliminated. The final four competitors in the ring were Black Wallstreet and The Hype. Black Wallstreet quickly eliminated Malone and Lee and then Cassius “Cash” Carter emerged from wherever he had been hiding outside the ring to double clothesline Black Wallstreet. Carter was carrying the boot trophy around after the show making a big deal out of it.
The next match was women’s tag team action featuring the team of Christina Marie & Megan Bayne taking on Ray Lyn and Gia Scott. Christina Marie and Megan Bayne got the win.
The next match was a Bullrope match between Clay Jacobs and Ryan Zukko. Mary Elizabeth and Ronnie Zukko were in their respective corners and were heavily involved in the action. Ryan Zukko won the match after both musiof them were battered, bruised, and scratched up.
Next was the $5000 Body Slam Challenge. Cash Carter accompanied Big AC (Adonis Cole) to the ring and explained the rules. Each contestant would get two changes to slam AC. Lor Diaz was the first wrestler to try and he was unsuccessful. The second contestant was Jeff Gainz, who was also unsuccessful. Cash got on the mic and said he wanted to give someone new a chance and looked around the crowd and then ultimately decided to give the timekeeper at ringside a chance. The payoff was increased to $10,000 at this point and after the contestant failed the first time he was beat up by everyone in the ring when he tried to get his second chance. Then, the Black Wallstreet logo flashed on the video screen and Solo’s entrance music hit. He came to the ring and slammed Adonis Cole easily to win the money.
The main event was next. Robert Locke & Brandon Scott entered via the stage and Locke got on the mic and told MCW ring announcer Danny Mays that he was fired and brought out former MCW ring announcer Robert Oresky to be ring announcer for the match. Mays never left his chair at ringside and Oresky stayed on the floor in The Trade’s corner. Then, Alex Divine & Jay Lethal came to the stage and remarked that it was no a falls count anywhere match and that Locke and Scott should come out to them. This resulted in the match getting under way outside the ring and for awhile none of the match actually took place inside the ring with the fighting going on all over the R.J. Meyer Arena in the crowd. When the action heated up inside the ring, Lethal and Divine finally got the upper hand and it looked to be over when Divine pointed at Lethal to finish the match. Lethal kicked Divine in the head, a result of the stipulation that, if they won, would give whoever got the pin a title shot. Alex Divine got the pin of Robert Locke to earn the title shot
