Saturday night, MCW Pro Wrestling paid tribute to Brandon Holman with Dynamo Runs the Show, at R.J. Meyer Arena in Joppa, MD.
I’ll preface this by saying it was a very humbling experience to meet Brandon Holman’s mother and father at intermission and hear how much they liked the new episode of my podcast that paid tribute to Brandon.
The results from the show:
The Hype retained the MCW Tag Team Championship by defeating Milk Chocolate.
Tony Macko defeated Lor Diaz.
Tara Meyer gave an emotional tribute to Brandon Holman in the ring, sharing that the event's proceeds would go toward a scholarship in his name. She then introduced Mark Holman, Brandon's father, and presented him with an autographed event poster from the locker room.
Mr. Holman spoke about Brandon's love for wrestling, recalling his early WWE fandom and how he began attending MCW shows in high school. He shared a heartfelt story about Brandon's conversation with Bruiser, where Brandon outlined his future plans. Mr. Holman then became emotional as he continued to talk about his son. He was about to introduce Brandon's favorite wrestler, Hellfire McGuire, when the Mecca unexpectedly came out instead.
The Mecca was loudly heckled by the crowd but insisted that the moment was about Brandon Holman. He launched into a lengthy monologue praising Brandon, claiming to speak on behalf of the locker room and asserting that Brandon had touched everyone's hearts. The Mecca then claimed to be Brandon's favorite wrestler, mentioning that he wasn't scheduled to wrestle until the main event. Mr. Holman forcefully interrupted, stating that the Mecca wasn't Brandon's favorite and that Brandon "couldn't stand his ass." He clarified that Hellfire McGuire was indeed Brandon's favorite wrestler. The Mecca then had a meltdown in the ring until Miami Mike Walker ran in and chased him out.
Will Ferrara faced Hellfire McGuire in a match where if Hellfire lost, he would have to retire from wrestling and return to managing. The match was hard-hitting, and Hellfire emerged victorious.
Next was a 10-man tag team challenge featuring the Zukkos, Angel Alvarado, Mur Mur, and Rayo against Big AC, Cassius "Cash" Carter, Tommy Seto, and Misused. A mystery box was placed at the timekeeper's table, announced as the prize for the winning team. The match was chaotic and wild, with Team Dynamo emerging victorious after Rayo pinned Tommy Seto. After the match, Jimmy Starz of Misused grabbed the mystery box and ran off with it, chased by others. The contents of the box were not revealed during the rest of the show.
The next match was introduced in the style of a game show, with the stipulation for Ken Dixon vs. Tim Spriggs chosen by the fans as "Stairway to Hell." This stipulation had not been mentioned online or elsewhere before this point. The MCW crew hung various weapons from the ceiling around the ring, including a chain, a bullrope with a cowbell, trash cans, and lids. The match was violent, with the participants fighting all over the arena, including Dixon throwing Spriggs into a shopping cart and ramming him into the stage. Back in the ring, Dixon wrapped the ring apron around Spriggs' face, duct-taped it to him, and seated him in a chair that collapsed, mimicking a previous spot from the month before with Joe Keys. Dixon then "waterboarded" Spriggs. Cassius "Cash" Carter interfered, but Dixon beat him up, opened a can of beans, drank the juice, and dumped the beans down Carter's pants, just as Brandon Holman used to do. Spriggs then re-entered the ring, applied a submission hold to Dixon, and Dixon tapped out. After the match, Spriggs refused to release the hold until officials and ring crew intervened.
After intermission, The Hustlers faced Demarcus Kane in a 2-on-1 match, with a title shot on the line for Joe Keys if they won. Kane won easily, but after the match, Keys dragged Gia Scott out onto the entrance ramp and knocked her to the floor, prompting Kane to chase after him.
Alex Divine spoke to Drolix of Black Wallstreet before heading to the ring to challenge Myles Hawkins for the Rage TV Championship. Divine started the match on fire, dominating the early stages, but Hawkins made a comeback. However, Divine regained control and secured the win, becoming the new Rage TV Champion.
The next tag team match featured Zakar Shah & Austin Kingsley V against Matt Castle & YouTuber Muscle Man Malcolm. Shah and Kingsley won the match and were later seen demanding a match with The Hype next month.
The main event saw the Mecca face Miami Mike Walker. The Mecca started by attacking Hellfire McGuire at ringside. During the match, the Mecca brought a table into the ring, took out the referee, and brutally attacked both Walker and McGuire. He then taunted Mark Holman, who stood up and yelled at him from the front row. The Mecca cleared the ring and challenged Holman to a fight. Holman jumped the rail, handed his watch and glasses to an MCW crew member, and stared down the Mecca before entering the ring. Holman then clotheslined the Mecca to the mat, and Walker returned to the ring to get the pin as the referee crawled back to count.
After the win, everyone celebrated in the ring. Dick Dynamo's boots, coat, and hat were brought to the ring and hung on a coat rack.
