Rush and Andretti’s CRU Set for AEW Tag Team Run
Lio Rush and Action Andretti have officially formed a tag team in All Elite Wrestling under the name CRU, which stands for "Crazy, Ruthless, and Unhinged." They introduced the name during the February 22 episode of AEW Collision, making it clear they plan to be a major force in the tag team division.
Rush and Andretti both have deep roots in MCW Pro Wrestling, where they gained experience before breaking into the national scene. Rush made a name for himself in MCW’s cruiserweight division, capturing the MCW Rage Television Championship and later winning the MCW Heavyweight Championship in 2016. His high-flying style and charisma quickly set him apart, leading to opportunities with Ring of Honor, WWE, and eventually AEW.
Andretti also built his reputation in MCW, where his speed and athleticism helped him become one of the promotion’s rising stars. In 2021, he won the MCW Heavyweight Championship, proving he was ready for bigger stages. His performances in MCW caught the attention of AEW, where he made an impact with a shocking victory over Chris Jericho in late 2022, launching his national career.
Rush and Andretti first teamed up in mid-2024 while working with Top Flight. Over time, they took on a more aggressive attitude, which led to a win over Top Flight at AEW’s Winter is Coming special on December 14, 2024. That victory earned them a future shot at the AEW World Tag Team Championship. Their full heel turn happened on January 18 during the Maximum Carnage special, when they attacked Top Flight, showing they were done with alliances and no longer looking for fan support.
Since taking on the CRU name, Rush and Andretti have made it clear they are focused on success. Rush recently hinted at their plans on social media, writing, "They keep asking how much longer we going to keep them waiting. Keep your head on a swivel. Two minds, one mission."
The team is now waiting for their AEW World Tag Team Championship opportunity.
