RVA Pro Wrestling Lands TV Coverage on WTVR CBS 6
RVA Pro Wrestling was featured this week on WTVR CBS 6, giving the Richmond-based promotion a major spotlight for its mix of high-energy entertainment and community engagement.
The segment, which aired Tuesday, highlighted the independent wrestling group's unique blend of athleticism and comic book–style storytelling, as well as its ongoing partnership with a local children’s charity.
Co-founded by wrestler Timmy Danger, RVA Pro Wrestling regularly stages family-friendly events that combine choreographed in-ring action with over-the-top characters and crowd interaction.
“We like to think of it as a live-action comic book,” Danger told WTVR. “The crowd is as much a part of it as we are.”
In addition to its entertainment value, RVA Pro Wrestling donates a portion of each show’s ticket proceeds to Punks for Presents, a nonprofit that provides holiday gifts to hospitalized children. Ring announcer Chad Painter described the group’s approach simply: “We buy toys and take them to the hospital. They need stuff—we take your money and buy it, that’s it.”
Among the performers featured is Jordan Blade, a pro wrestler with a background in Brazilian jiu-jitsu and powerlifting. Blade said the promotion offers a meaningful platform for women in wrestling.
“Being a female in wrestling can be hard,” she said. “I credit WWE and the women's evolution with people starting to take women's wrestling seriously.”
RVA Pro Wrestling’s next event, Wrestle Riot, will take place Thursday, July 25, at Hardywood Brewery. Doors open at 5:45 p.m. and bell time is 6:45 p.m.
