Santino Marella’s Cobra puts spotlight on Austin Kingsley

Indie standout Austin Kingsley takes Santino’s trademark move on TNA TV

Independent wrestler Austin Kingsley appeared on national television this week in TNA Wrestling, taking a trademark Cobra strike from Santino Marella while portraying the “lawyer” for NXT’s Trick Williams.

Kingsley has wrestled for MCW Pro Wrestling, Adrenaline Championship Wrestling, WDWA, FWA and PPW, along with other promotions across the country. In the segment, he stepped in as Williams’ attorney before Marella, now an authority figure in TNA, cut him off with his signature move.

The spot drew a reaction from fans familiar with Marella’s WWE run and gave Kingsley one of his most prominent appearances to date. Independent wrestlers often appear in supporting roles such as security when national companies run shows. One exception came on Monday Night Raw in Baltimore last year, when Myles Hawkins and Miami Mike Walker portrayed EMTs treating Seth Rollins.
