Brandon Holman, known to wrestling fans as Dick Dynamo and previously as Boom Hayden, passed away on May 6, 2024, at the age of 25. A beloved performer in the Mid-Atlantic independent wrestling scene, Holman was remembered not only for his talent in the ring, but for his deep kindness, humor, and the love he showed to everyone around him.
Myles Hawkins called Holman “one of my best friends” and “the most loving, passionate, and caring person I have had the pleasure of knowing.” Joseph Keys described his energy as “polarizing, uplifting.” JB Anderson added, “He made people laugh. He made people feel welcome. He made people feel seen.”
Steven Fuerte said Holman was “the reason I wanted to do this,” and credited him with inspiring growth, courage, and confidence: “I would have never stepped out of my comfort zone the way I did if it wasn’t for him.”
Holman’s presence left a lasting imprint on those he met - both in and out of the ring. As one tribute summed it up: “He was light. He was love. He was truly one of a kind.”
An episode of Belts, Bumps, & Barbed Wire featured Miami Mike Walker, Hellfire McGuire, JB Anderson, Steven Fuerte, Isaiah Wolf, and Boom Harden sharing their memories of Brandon and reflecting on the impact he had - and will continue to have - on them and the wrestling community.
A memorial scholarship fund has been established in Brandon Holman’s name at the Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC) to help support aspiring students - the fund is currently 81% funded. Donations are encouraged and can be made at this link.
