Hello! Welcome to this week’s edition of The Ring Post. In this issue, we bring you the freshest match results, news, and videos from the past week. Additionally, we take a moment to honor the memory of Nancy Benoit and her son Daniel, who tragically lost their lives 17 years ago this past weekend.
Publisher’s Note
You may have noticed that there hasn’t been a new episode of my podcast, Belts, Bumps, & Barbed Wire, in quite a while. The reason for this hiatus is that my computer, which I used for recording and editing, has been out of commission. I’m faced with two options: either replace the computer or get it repaired (though it’s out of warranty). Unfortunately, other pressing needs—such as food, shelter, and fuel—have taken priority. Just last week, we had to replace a heat pump, ahead of temperatures worsening. If you miss the podcast and would like to hear it again soon, consider clicking the subscribe button below and upgrading your subscription to a paid tier or finding another way listed below to support me in resolving this situation. Thanks for any help you can provide.

This Week in DMV Wrestling History
6/19: WWF in Baltimore in 1982
Nancy Elizabeth Benoit (formerly Daus, Sullivan, née Toffoloni; May 17, 1964 – June 22, 2007) was an American professional wrestling manager and model. She appeared in Florida Championship Wrestling, Extreme Championship Wrestling, and World Championship Wrestling where she was known under the ring name Woman.
After graduating from DeLand High School in Florida, Nancy Toffoloni got a job answering phones at State Farm Insurance. She had previously worked as a model and often sat alongside her then-husband Jim. It was during a photoshoot that she met Kevin Sullivan, who eventually wanted her to be part of his wrestling entourage. After months of convincing, she became an on-air valet, taking the ring name "Fallen Angel" and later adopted the name "Woman" in World Championship Wrestling, where she managed various wrestlers including Doom and Ric Flair and the Four Horsemen.
Tragically, in 2007, Nancy Benoit and her son Daniel were victims of a murder-suicide committed by her husband, WWE professional wrestler Chris Benoit. Her death occurred on June 22, 2007.
I remember seeing her for the first time when we had Southwest Championship Wrestling on a Spanish station in Chicago for like 8 weeks. Her and Kevin Sullivan I got into right away, I got into tape trading i the 90's and got her and Kevin in Florida, Savoldi's ICW as well as getting ECW tv tapes from someone every month. Great talent and will always be missed y many.
