You likely already saw the news that Jermaine Robinson - Dity Money - passed away Sunday. I wrote about it here.
That story quoted a couple of wrestling companies, and I’ll include some more of those later, but I wanted to focus now on what some of Jermaine’s friends that he wrestled with and against had to say about him. If you go to my original story, faans have also started leaving comments by clicking the comment button.
The online comments made by wrestlers are below. I have not edited them at all, so let this serve as a strong language warning.
Brandon Scott:
I can’t even wrap my brain around knowing you are gone. Over the past decade you and I have had so many matches. It was so easy being in the ring with you. We always had great matches even if you showed up 10 mins before our match. Every time you stepped in the ring you made magic. You always put on main event matches with anyone you were ever in the ring with. Nobody could match your charisma. I will miss your jokes, your laugh and the time you talked Amanda into letting you hold onto my gimmick money. I will miss having our phone calls on the way home from VCW at 2 in the morning. Most of all thank you for your friendship and making me better every time I was in the ring with you. You were one of the most selfless people I knew. I love you Dirty Money and will miss you so damn much. One last time. The Champ is here!
Ken Dixon:
Dirty Money was my friend. He was my mentor and he was my brother. At every stage of my career he was there and whether he knew it or not, he was testing/pushing me to be better.
He taught me how to really listen to the crowd and how to make it fun. He was a fuckin professional in every sense of the word and I’m better for knowing him.
I will miss you terribly.
Logan Easton Laroux:
Devastated about Dirty Money. He was an amazing wrestler more importantly an amazing person and father. I learned so much wrestling him. There was no way to have a bad match with Dirty and there was no way to not feel like you’d had a fucking match after wrestling Dirty.
Myles Hawkins:
Thank you for being a mentor and a leader. You will be missed.
Greek God Papadon:
I’m soooo gutted right now
Jermaine Robinson aka Dirty Money was a great person in and out the ring
Thank you for being my opponent in many promotions over the past 20+ years but most importantly thank you for being my friend.
Love you my brother
See you on the other side.
My condolences to his family.
My heart goes out to you.
I’ll have you in my prayers.
R.I.P.
Keo Vandu:
I’m crying typing this.
RIP Dirty Money.
Known him since the start of my wrestling training (2018) and shared a locker room with him many times. He gave me fitness advice and always remind me and others to have fun. I’ll definitely miss his big smile, goofy jokes in the locker room, and a dap and a hug at the end of the show. Thank you for all you do🙏🏽💰🙏🏽 Rest Easy
I will try to do another piece with more reactions later this week if time allows. Please continue to keep Jermaine Robinson’s family and friends in your thoughts and prayers.
