I wrote this past week about the late Maryland governor William Donald Schaefer, who was a wrestling fan. His favorite wrestler was Hulk Hogan, and that caused an interview with him to be ended early at a WWF event in Baltimore when he mentioned it; because Hogan had signed with just signed with WCW.
Indy News
Saturday night, MCW Pro Wrestling wrapped up its Fall Autumn Armageddon tour in Joppa, MD. In the main event, Action Andretti defeated Mecca (Brian Johnson) to become the new MCW Heavyweight Champion. In other action, Moses defeated Demarcus Kane to become the new MCW Rage TV Champion. Other results can be found here. Buff Bagwell also made an appearance in a Mister Bagwell’s Neighborhood segment. MCW has announced their next event, Higher Ground, will be in Joppa on November 5.
Wrestlers
Sunday, more than 50 wrestling superstars appeared at Baltimore Celebfest 5 in Millersville. It has been announced that Baltimore Celebfest 6 will be held in Carroll County, MD in February 2023.
AEW superstar Miro, formerly known as Rusev, stopped by Jimmy’s Famous Seafood Saturday night while he was in town for Baltimore Celebfest 5 in Millersville.
Mick Foley appeared for a meet and greet Saturday at Squared Circle Collectibles in Winchester, VA. He also appeared at Baltimore Celebfest Sunday.
Friday would have been the 75th Birthday for Nikolai Volkoff, who lived in the Baltimore area during his retirement from the ring.

On Tuesday, November 1st, AEW Community is presenting a Crab Feast at Jimmy’s Famous Seafood in Baltimore. The event runs from 7-10 p.m. is also hosted by AEW Heels. Tickets are $75 and can be purchased here. A limited number of VIP tickets can also be purchased, which include early admission, a Jimmy’s t-shirt, and a koozie.
This event benefits the Hoffberger Breast Center at Mercy Baltimore.
Justin Schlegel of 98 Rock is the master of ceremonies. The meal includes steamed crabs, corn on the cob, and local potatoes along with a buffet featuring some of Jimmy’s classics.
AEW stars attending include: Dr. Britt Baker, Wardlow, Serena, Aubrey, Vickie Guerrero, Leva, and Rebel. There will likely be other surprise appearances. As noted in the graphic above, there will also be auctions of AEW collectibles.
