A video from earlier this month at an MATW show captures the moment when Preston Quinn delivered a piledriver to MATW TV commentator Brent Fleenor.
According to Fleenor, the incident unfolded after Quinn had already hit B.T. Windsor with a piledriver following the match and was preparing to deliver another one onto the TV Title belt. In response, Fleenor stepped into the ring in an attempt to stop him.
"I had had enough, folks," Fleenor explained. "There is NO REASON that one of MATW’s brightest stars should be denied his chance at earning his living—OR MUCH WORSE. So I stepped into the ring to talk PQ off this dangerous ledge… and it didn’t go as I had planned."
Despite the outcome, Fleenor made it clear that he had no regrets about his decision. "Bet everything under your scalp, people—I’d do it again. And again… AND AGAIN. I took the piledriver that could have done immense damage to one of the young lions that will carry our organization for the next decade, possibly. I was not going to sit idly by and just let this happen."
Addressing those who criticized him, Fleenor remained steadfast in his stance. "For those who say ‘well deserved,’ ‘he ran his mouth too much,’ ‘Fleenor spouts off’—if a damned near 60-year-old man gets ‘THAT’ for potentially saving the career or life of a young athlete that for sure didn’t deserve what was going to happen… Then I’ll take a piledriver every week if I need to."
