Wrestler Charlie Tiger Pleads Guilty in Sheetz Machete Attack
Guilty plea follows string of arrests in Pennsylvania and New Jersey this year
Independent pro wrestler Charles Hutton, known as Charlie Tiger, is scheduled for sentencing October 14 in Cumberland County after pleading guilty September 9 to simple assault from a March machete incident at a Sheetz in Lower Allen Township.
Police said Hutton stripped naked in the parking lot, charged at bystanders with a machete, and slashed a van before running inside the store. A customer wrestled the weapon away, and Hutton fled. He was originally charged with four offenses, but prosecutors dropped criminal mischief, disorderly conduct, and harassment as part of a plea. The simple assault count carries a maximum penalty of two years in prison and a $5,000 fine.
The Cumberland County plea followed another arrest earlier in the year in New Jersey. On February 10, Hutton was taken into custody at an IRS office in Cherry Hill after allegedly making violent threats that forced the evacuation of the building. He was unarmed when arrested and was charged with terroristic threats and harassment. The case was first filed in Camden County Superior Court and later sent to municipal court, where its current status is unclear.
In July, Hutton was also charged in Delaware County with terroristic threats, ethnic intimidation, and harassment after a confrontation in Media Borough. He was arrested July 17, held on $25,000 bail, and later released on $2,500. Court filings there list his residence as homeless, and a formal arraignment is set for October 22.
Hutton’s sentencing in Cumberland County will be the first outcome among the three cases, with the others still working their way through the courts.
