Independent professional wrestler Jadis Quinn says they were physically attacked after being subjected to homophobic slurs at a bar in Hagerstown following an ACW show Friday night.
In a Facebook post, Quinn said three men and a woman confronted them before the situation turned violent. Quinn also accused security guards of siding with the alleged attackers and throwing Quinn to the ground while they were attempting to defend themselves.
“It finally happened,” Quinn wrote. “Called multiple slurs then outnumbered by 3 grown men and a woman.”
Quinn described the incident as an act of gay bashing and alleged that the security guards involved were friends with the attackers.
“All I did tonight, was be my true authentic self,” Quinn wrote, adding that they had been minding their own business when the confrontation occurred.
Quinn, who has competed for several independent promotions in the region under the nickname “The Twink Temptress,” made history at the 2025 Shane Shamrock Memorial Cup when they defeated Aaron Rourke in the tournament’s first match between two openly LGBTQ wrestlers, according to Outsports.
“Genuinely I ask, what the fuck has happened to society?” Quinn wrote.
Nobody should have to worry about being assaulted simply because of who they are. The people responsible deserve to be held accountable, including any security personnel who allegedly helped the attackers instead of protecting someone who was being threatened.
Maryland law allows hate crime charges when an assault is motivated wholly or substantially by a victim’s sexual orientation or gender identity. Quinn’s allegations could raise questions about whether the incident qualifies under the state’s hate crime statute.
Complaints have reportedly been filed in connection with the incident, although no further details are available yet about a possible police investigation.
