WWE Superstar Nikki Bella Talks Parenting Priorities on Sherri

On the Monday, November 17 episode of Sherri, WWE star Nikki Bella talked with host Sherri Shepherd about how she approached co-parenting her son, Mateo, with her ex, Dancing With the Stars pro Artem Chigvintsev, after their very public divorce.

Bella said, “True privilege is when you have a mom and a dad and a happy household. As long as mom and dad are happy for a child, that is the best privilege they can ever have. Sharing Mateo, no matter what I felt personally, I knew that I wanted him to have those feelings as much as I could give him that. Even though it wouldn’t be the same household, I put whatever I felt aside, because it’s not about me when it comes to parenting or co-parenting, it’s about them. So make holidays together as much as possible, as many of their memories as you can. So he can grow up and go, ‘Well, I always remember mom and dad together and I didn’t know they didn’t like each other.’”
