Action Andretti defeats Chris Jericho in AEW debut
Action Andretti had his AEW debut Wednesday night and he defeated Chris Jericho. Here’s what Wrestling News said about the match:
Chris Jericho said that he would be wrestling a "tune up" match on tonight's broadcast and it would be against a "jobber." The "jobber" was Action Andretti, an up and coming star who has been wrestling for about 3 years.
Wrestling Observer has a good recap of the match. Andretti got the pin after a running shooting star press. Here’s a key excerpt from the Observer:
AEW is positioning the Andretti win as one of the biggest upsets in pro wrestling history with many on social media comparing it to the 1993 WWE Raw 1-2-3 Kid upset over Razor Ramon moment.
AEW’s tweet about the match:

Stay tuned Thursday for more reaction to this surprising win (only surprising in that Jericho agreed to go along with it.)
