On October 25, DMV Wrestling News reported allegations by independent wrestler Jadis Quinn that they were assaulted after being subjected to homophobic slurs at a Hagerstown bar following an ACW event.
Hours later, Ringside News and eWrestlingNews published accounts of the same incident. Neither credited DMV Wrestling News, and both included background information that appeared in the original report.
The similarities extend beyond Quinn’s Facebook statement, which was publicly available. Both publications included information about Quinn’s wrestling career, including their match against Aaron Rourke at the 2025 Shane Shamrock Memorial Cup.
DMV Wrestling News had included that history, citing Outsports. Ringside News and eWrestlingNews repeated much of the same information without attributing it to either publication.
The passages are especially similar.
Ringside News wrote:
Quinn, known in the independent wrestling scene as “The Twink Temptress,” has competed for several regional promotions. They also made history at the 2025 Shane Shamrock Memorial Cup when they faced Aaron Rourke in the tournament’s first match between two openly LGBTQ wrestlers.

The wording is nearly identical, with minor changes in sentence structure. Whether eWrestlingNews relied on Ringside News or both publications independently used the DMV Wrestling News report is unclear.
This is not the first time I’ve questioned Ringside News over its use of material published by DMV Wrestling News.
On January 30, 2024, I reported that Rick Steiner was scheduled to appear at MCW Fan Jam 2 in Joppa, Maryland. The appearance followed controversy over Steiner’s treatment of transgender wrestler Gisele Shaw.
My report included the following passage:
This Sunday, February, 4, MCW is holding Fan Jam 2 at the R.J. Meyer Arena in Joppa, MD. Over 30 wrestling stars will be present and available for photo opportunities and autographs.
Ringside News published:
This Sunday, February 4, MCW will present Fan Jam 2 at the R.J. Meyer Arena in Joppa, MD, featuring over 30 wrestling stars for photo opportunities and autographs.
The event details were presented in almost exactly the same order, with much of the same wording. Ringside News did not credit DMV Wrestling News.
I documented the similarities in February 2024.
Following the latest incident, I contacted eWrestlingNews’s Ryan Clark about the similarities and lack of attribution. I received no response.
Neither Steve Carrier of Ringside News nor Clark has explained the similarities between their reports and the earlier DMV Wrestling News coverage.
No publication owns the facts surrounding a news event, and Quinn’s public statements were available to anyone covering the allegations. But when another journalist’s reporting is used to develop a story, attribution is standard practice.
I have no objection to other wrestling publications covering stories reported by DMV Wrestling News. I do object when reporting appears to be repackaged without acknowledging the source.
Both outlets have an opportunity to explain how their articles were developed or provide appropriate attribution.
